Sonically exhilarating, ICON’s music connects with the full range of intense human emotion and electrifies the senses. Impactful. High-energy. Thrilling. Explosive. Heart-pounding. Gut-wrenching. Triumphant. Awesomely awesome.

THE FOUNDERS

ICON was founded in 2011 by veteran composers Joel Goodman and Frederik Wiedmann. Here’s a little bit about each of them:

FREDERIK WIEDMANN

Frederik has written music for a wide variety of feature films including Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox (Warner Bros. Animation), Hostel: Part III (Sony Pictures), Mirrors II (20th Century Fox), Hellraiser: Revelations (Weinstein Company, Dimension Films), and The Hills Run Red (Dark Castle Entertainment, Warner Brothers). You can also hear Frederik’s music in several TV productions including Moonlight (CBS), Reunion (Fox), Frost Giant (Syfy) and Triassic Attack (Syfy), just to name a few.

A strong foundation in digital music production combined with well-developed dramatic sensibility makes Frederik a highly desirable and in-demand Hollywood composer for film and TV. After receiving 2 Annie Award nominations for his scores to the critically acclaimed TV series Green Lantern: The Animated Series (Created by Bruce Timm at Warner Brothers), he then moved onto scoring the brand new DC Comics show Beware the Batman, debuting in 2013 on Cartoon Network.

JOEL GOODMAN
As an Emmy award-winning composer for motion picture, Joel’s signature style thrives in musical settings that require both quiet undercurrents and intense human emotion. Joel has scored 5 Oscar-nominated films and over 25 Emmy-nominated television programs and documentaries. He composed the Main Theme for the long-running and critically acclaimed PBS series American Experience, of which he also scored more than a dozen episodes including Seabiscuit, Wyatt Earp, Walt Whitman, JFK, and Walt Disney, a four hour documentary about the world famous business magnate. He has scored over 30 films for HBO, most notably Born Rich, Wartorn, Hear & Now, A Small Act and Saving Pelican #895, for which he won an Emmy award. Being Elmo and An Honest Liar are just two of several films featuring Joel’s music to see a theatrical release.

His expertise as a composer is aided by his comfort in collaborating with directors and producers. Having scored more than 125 films in total, he has a refined ability to turn the emotions we see into those we hear and feel. Because of this, Joel has been fortunate to work with such award winning and legendary filmmakers as Neil LaBute, Albert Maysles, Kevin Spacey, Andrew Jarecki, Barbara Kopple, Wong Kar-wai, Rachel Grady, Marshall Curry, Sebastian Junger, Michael Epstein, Oren Jacoby, Irene Taylor Brodsky, and Fisher Stevens.
